Job Description

Project background

A predecessor thesis developed an LSTM-based model for predicting chamber temperatures. Deviations between predicted temperatures and actual sensor values could provide a basis for predictive maintenance, for example by indicating defective disposables. The existing idea, architecture, and documented behavior will be evaluated and further developed.

Tasks

Review the documentation and results of the predecessor thesis

Evaluate the existing predictive maintenance concept

Further develop the existing approach and/or generate new ideas

Rapidly prototype potential approaches

Compare and assess the different ideas

Propose an implementable solution

Qualifications

You are an enrolled student in the field of Engineering, Medical Technology or Computer Science seeking a student project or a Bachelor’s or Master’s thesis.

You are available for a project lasting 6 to 12 months during 2026 or 2027.

You are willing to work closely with R&D specialists in mechanics, electronics, and software.

You are curious, like to take ownership and responsibility and can communicate in English or German.
