Environmental Education Interns participate in the nature center’s operations, including a two-week orientation and training, teaching ecology-based lessons to K–4 students, and serving as Learning Group Leaders for Outdoor School (4-day residential camp) for 2–3 weeks in the fall. They work with diverse groups, assist with live animal training and care, volunteers, social media, trails and habitat restoration, data collection for citizen science projects, and sustainable initiatives. On-site housing is provided; average work week is 40–45 hours. Clearances required include PA State Police Criminal Background Check, PA Child Abuse History Clearance Form, and Federal (FBI) Fingerprint Criminal Background Check.
